SK cashew is have a darker color with light spots or streaks and visible defects (three or more spots) caused by pre-harvest insect damage. However, they retain the same delicious taste and nutritional value as standard cashews.

In the international cashew industry, after each harvest, we grade cashew kernels based on color, shape, and surface defects according to AFI standards. The SK grades typically refers to kernels with visible defects, yet remains a popular choice due to its more economical price compared to other whole-kernel grades.

SK2, SK3: Cashew kernels with 2–4 dark spots, more pronounced scorch marks, or significant surface defects. They have a dark yellow, brown, or amber color. The kernels may also appear wrinkled and are darker than the previously mentioned two grades.
